Visiting my Mom this weekend I was munching on these oranges… Hi Mom!
Spring is kicking in fast–did this a few days ago and things are much greener already… Looks like a typical Montana Memorial Day–rain, maybe a little snow.
Down on the valley floor, in the trees, still some snow…
Another one from the weekend–up near Canyon Lake looking back down-valley. We didn’t make it to the lake–Xena my dog let me know she’d had enough when she just laid down in the trail. But it was a pretty spot to each lunch. Tough painting though sitting there in the bright sun, colors and values get hard to judge in that much light.
Canyon Creek down in the Bitterroots. Tough to find time to paint lately, lots of paintboxes to build…sorry not many posts.
I walk the dog almost every day over at the DNRC–it’s a production nursery mostly, they grow trees and shrubs for reforestation, river bank stabilization, etc… A pretty blue sky May day, our first taste of real spring, ‘mature spring’, you might say, a bit oxymoronically.
I’m not going to swear they’re D’anjou pears… They were in the fridge, anyway, and they appear to be pears. I’m not going to question them as to their nationality, or if they’re in the country illegally.
